Everyone loves dolphins! Is it their intelligence, their playful squeaks, or maybe that big toothy smile? Beloved universally, it's hard to imagine that a fresh water dolphin is now believed extinct. In 1950, it was estimated there were 6000 Baiji dolphins in the river Yangtze. None have been seen since 2007. It seems that the Baiji has paid the price for China's industrial success. The lid on Peter's fixed edition box figurine bears the names of the largest (Orca) and smallest (Maui) of the dolphin family. The Latin name for the Bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncates) is also inscribed. Peter's signature mouse is swimming frantically, in an attempt to stay ahead of the dolphins and not inside them, like the fish found within Turn the Tide.

Peter’s joyful quartet of dolphins has arrived stateside, and we’ve been informed of a color variation. 100 pieces from the 500 piece edition have been tinted a tad differently. Rather than ivory colored dolphins, the variation has a slight bluish hue that is quite lifelike. The coral remains burnt umber, but the tint is less saturated on the variation

Although Harmony Kingdom is still manufactured at Wimberley Mills near Stroud in Gloucestershire, since Martin Perry, the founder retired in August 2005, marketing and shipping of the pieces is done from the USA office at Harmony Ball Company in Ohio. This means that we have to consolidate our orders before having them shipped to us. We are currently taking deliveries about every 6 weeks and so there may be a delay with your order if the piece is not already in stock. We will advise by email. Hope this doesn't cause a problem.
