Since its preview in September 2001, this image has attracted quite a lot of interest. It is, perhaps, a typical Nigel Hemming gun dog painting. Three Springer Spaniels wait with tense anticipation amongst the hay-bales of an old barn. As well as the dogs, various elements of outdoor clothing and shooting paraphernalia await loading into the back of a Land Rover. All have expectations of a great day in the field.
