Monique Baldwin explores the symbolism of the mystical dragon with this box figurine. Dragons may stand for a wide array of characters, from water spirits to evil forces to benevolent guardians. An ancient symbol of balance was an animal, often a dragon or eagle, with one body and two heads – one considered to be female and the other male. Thus, double-headed symbols represented completion and perfection and were often used for royalty. These many different symbolisms are expressed by Monique’s two-headed dragon. Only 200 of this piece are available in the UK.
Although Harmony Kingdom is still manufactured at Wimberley Mills near Stroud in Gloucestershire, since Martin Perry, the founder retired in August 2005, marketing and shipping of the pieces is done from the USA office at Harmony Ball Company in Ohio. This means that we have to consolidate our orders before having them shipped to us. We are currently taking deliveries about every 3 weeks and so there may be a delay with your order if the piece is not already in stock. We will advise by email. Hope this doesn't cause a problem.
